Government agencies play an important role

When government agencies sign a contract with a company, under the Minnesota Human Rights Act and Minnesota Administrative Rules, the bid-award entities are required to:

  • Provide each bidder and the contractor with documentation describing the Minnesota Human Rights Act and Rules.
  • Include in each contract the requirement that the contractor maintain a Compliance Plan and make good faith efforts to implement it.
  • Include in each contract the contractor’s obligations under the Minnesota Human Rights Act and Minnesota Administrative Rules.
  • Provide the Minnesota Department of Human Rights with information or assistance deemed necessary to seek compliance with Minnesota Human Rights Act and Minnesota Administrative Rules.
  • Notify the Minnesota Department of Human Rights if you identify that the contractor is not in compliance with the Minnesota Human Rights Act and Minnesota Administrative Rules.
  • Cooperate with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights in implementing the Minnesota Human Rights Act and Minnesota Administrative Rules.
